Cocktail Creamery: McKinney's Hub for Boozy Ice Cream

Ted and Sharyn Lindblad, the visionary owners, spontaneously ventured into the ice cream world four years ago. Seeking to redefine the norm, they attended a five-day Scoop School, learning the art of crafting ultra-smooth, crystal-free ice cream with premium liquors. The result is a delectable treat with an alcohol by volume (ABV) ranging from 4 to 4.5%. Indulgence comes at a price—$6.25 for a small cup and $13 for a four-scoop flight. Yet, the perfect balance of alcoholic kick and creamy texture makes it a worthwhile investment. Cleverly named flavors like Raisin the Rummy and Dickersnoodle add a playful touch to the menu, while signature choices like Salted Butter Caramel Crazy and White Chocolate Macamania showcase the creativity behind each creation. For seasonal delights, the Frosted Peppermint with 100-proof Rumple Minze Peppermint Schnapps and Andes mints is a tempting option. While the neon signs and spinning wheel exude vibrancy, Cocktail Creamery caters to an adult audience, limiting boozy treats to those aged 21 and older. However, eight non-alcoholic flavors ensure younger patrons aren't left out. If savoring alcohol-infused cones isn't your preference, the creamery boasts a full-service bar. Unwind in the spacious dining room with a margarita or house cocktail, surrounded by vintage paintings and tableware that enhance the old-ice-cream-parlor ambiance. From drinks to ice cream, everything is served fresh, spirited, and undeniably delightful. Operating hours: Monday – Thursday, noon – 10 p.m.; Friday – Saturday, noon – 11 p.m.; Sunday, noon – 8 p.m. Visit Cocktail Creamery at 205 E. Virginia St., McKinney.
