New and Coming-soon Restaurants in Dallas-Fort Worth area
From delectable cookies to classic fried chicken and seafood, North Texas is seeing a surge in new restaurant openings. While some eateries are joining the culinary scene, others are bidding farewell. The majority of these openings signal the expansion of local restaurant chains venturing into new neighborhoods in the D-FW area. However, there's also a newcomer set to make its debut in spring 2024.

One noteworthy addition is Another Broken Egg Cafe, bringing its Southern-inspired menu to Preston Hollow Village on Nov. 6. Situated at 7825 Firefall Way, Suite 180, this marks the 12th location in Texas and the 95th nationwide. The menu boasts Southern delights like Shrimp ‘N Grits, Chicken & Waffles, Lobster and Brie Omelette, Huevos Rancheros, and a Southern Chicken Sandwich. The cafe, open seven days a week, also features a full bar with signature cocktails, mimosas, and bloody marys, operating from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends. Big EZ Seafood and Oyster Bar, a Louisiana-inspired establishment, is gearing up to open its first Texas location in Arlington, near the Parks at Arlington shopping center. Scheduled for a spring 2024 debut, it will offer a tantalizing array of dishes, including boiled crab infused with garlic, butter, citrus, and spices, alongside options like Louisiana blue crab, shrimp, Dungeness crab, and crawfish. Black Rock Coffee Bar, a national boutique coffee shop founded in Oregon in 2008, is expanding its presence in the D-FW area with a seventh store in McKinney. Located at 5101 McKinney Ranch Pkwy., McKinney, it promises premium roasted coffees, teas, smoothies, and Fuel Energy drinks. The Budlong Southern Chicken has set up shop on the Toyota Music Factory grounds in Irving, serving Nashville hot chicken delights such as sandwiches, tenders, salads, popcorn chicken, and desserts, including homemade Banana Pudding. The establishment plans to introduce a full bar pending the processing of its liquor license. Chip Cookies, a Utah-based gourmet cookie delivery concept, is making its debut in North Texas with a Plano location. Since 2016, Chip Cookies has been delivering gooey gourmet cookies, and now customers can enjoy them at 2401 Preston Rd Unit E. Eggs Up Grill has expanded its breakfast, brunch, and lunch concept to Dallas, situated in the Bent Tree Hills Shopping Center. This marks the first of 10 planned Eggs Up Grills in Dallas-Fort Worth, with a menu featuring signature items like founder’s recipe corned beef hash, made-to-order omelets, and classic breakfast dishes. Fatburger and Round Table Pizza have joined forces in Bartonville, offering a co-branded restaurant with a diverse menu featuring everything from customized burgers and crispy chicken to pizzas with homemade dough. Firebirds Wood Fired Grill opened its second D-FW location in Plano on Oct. 30, specializing in hand-cut steaks and fresh seafood grilled over a hickory, oak, or pecan wood firewood grill. The restaurant operates seven days a week with happy hour cocktails and Bar Bite service from 4 to 7 p.m. Fogo de Chão, the internationally renowned Brazilian restaurant, opened its fourth North Irving location at Cypress Waters on Oct. 23, 2023, featuring a spacious dining room surrounding an open churrasco grill. Golden Chick is expanding in the region, with its 13th restaurant and sixth corporate-owned location opening in Fort Worth on Oct. 18, 2023. Known for its fried and rotisserie chicken, Golden Chick also offers a variety of sides and freshly baked yeast rolls. HTeaO, an Amarillo-brewed iced tea company, is set to open a location in Colleyville in November 2023, featuring 26 different types of iced tea, 13 hot beverages, 11 cold beverages, and a surprise flavor every month. Jeremiah’s Italian Ice and Gelati opened its doors in Lucas on Sept. 19, 2023, with a grand opening event offering free gelati for a year on Oct. 28 and 29. JuiceLand, known for its thick smoothies, customizable acai bowls, and plant-based offerings, opened its 36th Texas location on Nov. 16 at 3001 Knox St #109 in Dallas. La Madeleine, the French-founded cafe, continues its D-FW expansion with new locations in Preston Hollow and Prosper. The Preston Hollow cafe officially opened on Nov. 8, while the Prosper location, within the Gates of Prosper development, is set to open on Nov. 15. Mister O1, the Miami-born artisanal pizza joint, opened its third Texas location in Mansfield on Nov. 14, offering delicate thin-crust pizzas with a minimum 72-hour preparation and resting period. Mo'Bettahs, a Hawaiian-style restaurant, opened its fifth North Texas location in Forney on Nov. 3, showcasing the brand's 2.0 design and serving authentic Hawaiian-style food, including the famous lunch plate with various meat choices. Nando’s PERi-PERi, a South African restaurant renowned for its spicy flame-grilled chicken, is scheduled to open in Dallas on Dec. 11, offering a menu that includes signature chicken dishes, PERi-fries, grilled corn, Brussels sprouts, and Portuguese custard tarts. Shake Shack expanded its presence with a new location in Grand Prairie on Nov. 16, offering its classic menu of Angus beef burgers, crispy chicken, hand-spun milkshakes, and more, with both in-Shack dining and a drive-thru experience. The Stache, a hidden speakeasy located within Renny’s Bar & Grill at 11661 Preston Rd # 153 in Dallas, opened to the public for reservations on Wednesday and Thursday nights starting Nov. 8. Guests can solve a riddle at the entrance related to historical figures with notable mustaches to gain access. Thirsty Lion, a gastropub chain with locations in Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, and Texas, will open its fifth Texas location in North Dallas near Addison in November 2023. The establishment offers a diverse dinner and brunch menu along with a daily happy hour featuring cocktails and a variety of beers. Vidorra, a modern Mexican cuisine concept, opened its new location in Grand Prairie on Nov. 13, offering a menu of margaritas, queso blanco served in a 400-degree molcajete bowl, street tacos, birria tacos, enchiladas, and more. Unfortunately, Wahlburgers at The Star in Frisco closed its doors for good in September 2023. This marked the end of the only Wahlburgers restaurant in Texas, which opened in 2019, offering a variety of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and homemade chili. The closure took place at 3685 The Star Blvd., in Frisco on Sept. 28, 2023.
