State Fair of Texas Implements Rule Changes for Unaccompanied Minors Entering Fair Park
In preparation for the upcoming State Fair of Texas, alterations have been made to the regulations governing the entry of unaccompanied minors into Fair Park. Effective immediately, minors will only be permitted access to the fairgrounds after 5 p.m. if they are accompanied by a responsible guardian or chaperone.
The State Fair of Texas has officially disclosed this policy modification on Tuesday. According to the updated guidelines, individuals aged 17 and under who wish to enter the fair must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or chaperone aged 21 years or older. A chaperone is permitted to bring in a maximum of six minors simultaneously and must present a valid identification at the entrance gate. Once inside the fairgrounds, the presence of the guardian is not mandatory for the minors. However, it is strongly advised for the guardian to maintain communication with the minor(s) and to have awareness of their whereabouts within Fair Park. Jaime Navarro, the Chief Operating Officer of the State Fair of Texas, emphasized, "Our foremost concern is public safety. We are fully committed to ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all attendees of our annual Texas celebration. Similar policies are being adopted across the industry, and we believe this approach is the most suitable way to bolster the existing safety measures for fairgoers, vendors, and staff." Notably, during the previous summer, Dallas Police reported an incident where a group of fairgoers attempted to incite chaos by running through the fairgrounds, which led to allegations of a shooting. Following thorough investigation, the police confirmed that these reports were unsubstantiated.
