And it seems that New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy is just as aware, as he recently declared the "Taylor Swift Ham, Egg, and Cheese" as the official state sandwich, coinciding with Swift's weekend shows at MetLife Stadium.
In a video message shared on Twitter, the governor stated, "In New Jersey, we have a longstanding debate between Taylor ham and pork roll. Usually, we let people call it what they prefer, but since we have a superstar coming to town, we thought it would be fitting to commemorate the occasion."
With a playful nod to Swift's song lyrics, Murphy declared, "Therefore, today we are officially declaring the Taylor Swift ham, egg, and cheese as the official state sandwich of New Jersey. Welcome to New Jersey, Taylor. We've been eagerly awaiting your arrival, and it would have been a disappointing summer without you."
The governor also shared an official decree, stating, "Considering that Taylor Swift is a renowned superstar, and her ability to create meaningful lyrics and deliver record-breaking live performances remains unparalleled; and considering that Taylor Swift will once again grace MetLife Stadium this weekend for her esteemed Eras Tour, where it is no surprise that she will draw an immense crowd larger than the sky."
The decree continued, "On behalf of the state of New Jersey, we hope this weekend exceeds the wildest dreams of the people of New Jersey and Taylor herself."
